Parent
of a disabled child

I am the
parent of a disabled child that was born with a twin sister,
he is a boy. After waiting so long to become a mother, I was blessed
not only with one child but two. But the happiness became sadness,
Little did I know that this little piece from heaven was going to teach
me that I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, while I was worried on
what to do with this child and asking myself why is god punishing me,
what did I do to deserve this. Little did I know that there was a
mission behind the arrival of this child. I became a advocate for
parents with disabled children, and also became very out spoken in this
mission. But most of all through this child I learned that he
wasn't
asking me for much but to only love him, educate him and support him in
making him as independent as possible. And in return no matter what he
would only love me and not judge me no matter what I did or said.
Sometimes when these things happen we tend to blame ourselves and
everyone else. But we never really look at the picture and think that
everything always has a blessing and mine was these angels that god
gave me. And always remember that when you have a special child,
You
were hand picked to be the parent of this child. Their is a saying that
says " Only special parents get special children." And I know know that
I am one of those Parents.
